    1. My husband loves new beginnings - new days, new weeks, new months, new years. Praise God that He made us new creatures in Christ!

    1. I know I share many deer photos, but they are precious! These 2 were just outside our sliding doors looking in at me - probably wondering when the bird feeder was going to be refilled!

  3. You have just made me find the goodness in snow all over again...it makes things new! I'm glad God sees me as new and improved all the time instead of the grumble I tend to be more often than not.

    1. Our lake effect snow machine has been cranking out the white stuff almost continually for a month, and I love that things are pure and white every morning. (These bone-chilling temps, however, I can do without!) Isn't it wonderful to be a new creature in Christ? As you said - God sees us as new and improved!

    1. Thanks, Debbie. I love it that God made deer so beautiful and sturdy. They didn't seem a bit bothered by the snow crusts on their backs.

  5. Reminds me of when I see the quote "I don't live there anymore". All things are new. Very uplifting scripture to read on this cold winter's morn. :)

    1. I think the challenge is to let go of those old things and let the new take root. Hard to take a bad shot of these 2. They're almost pets.

  7. Hi Julie, thank you for the sweet pic and the wonderful Scripture. We have a prayer request, please. Here in the high mountains of Western NC, our water pipes are frozen from our water meter to the house. No water since Thursday evening!! Our plumber says the ground is frozen several feet deep and no plumbers are coming out. We're buying thirty, one gal. jugs of water at a time, and "making do" with a bad situation. I promised the Lord never to take running water for granted again, but to remember to thank Him for all the modern conveniences. Please pray that the plumber can get our water back on this coming week. The weather forecast is supposed to be above freezing. Thanks, and God bless. Bev

    1. What a nightmare, Bev! My husband and I have both committed to prayer about your situation, and I ask any others reading this to please make mention of this in their prayers, too. Please send me a note after God answers to let us know the problem is resolved. Keep looking up!

  9. Julie, PRAISE GOD!!! My husband called our local plumber in this little town, he had previously refused to even come look, because he said the ground was frozen solid. My husband told him that I had polio in 1951, and now have Post Polio Syndrome. It causes weakness and pain in my legs and the Dr. told me to soak them in hot water at night when the pain is bad. Thanks to all the prayers, the Lord impressed on the plumber's heart to send out one of his men with a heat gun. He put the heat on the water meter, which was frozen, and soon we heard the beautiful sound of water running through the open faucets in the house!!! He said our pipes weren't frozen, but our meter was frozen! We never heard of such a thing. Now, praise God, after 4 days without water, we can take a hot shower instead of a "sponge bath". No more boiling bottled water to wash dishes!! Thank you again for the prayers. Please let us know whenever you have a special prayer request, and we'd be honored to pray about it. We've been praying for your's and Mr. Cutoff's backs and for your precious Mom. God answers prayer!! During all this time without water, I had to pray for a good attitude, and repent of a bad attitude. We've all been there, huh? Love, Bev Proverbs 3: 5.6

    1. Bev, thanks so much for sharing this today! Oh yes, been there, done that repenting of a bad attitude thing - unfortunately more times than I can count! It is amazing how we take things like hot running water for granted when so much of the world isn't afforded that blessing. Your answer to prayer brought tears to my eyes this afternoon. It's so wonderful when we see God answer big prayers, little prayers and everything in between! I am honored that you and your husband down in NC would make mention of our needs to the Lord in prayer. What a blessing that is to us! I guess I always hesitate to mention our own health issues on the blog, but I do have some positive updates to share soon. I agree - Proverbs 3:5,6!
