Sunday Reflections

I'm a sunset gal. I've never been a big fan of getting up before daylight, but if I hadn't, I would have missed a stunning moonset. As I stood there watching the rapidly moving clouds repeatedly conceal and reveal the moon, I couldn't help but think, "What is man, that thou are mindful of him?"

Sunday Reflections

Our Heavenly Father heaps undeserved abundant blessings upon us every day. We're so thankful we've been saved by His grace through Jesus Christ our Lord. We pray that you won't allow yourself to be robbed of contentment as we go through the upcoming holiday season.

Here We Go Again!

This is the smallest bear we've seen. No mama in sight.

Pretty cute!

Mr. Cut Off was able to scare him off and rescue the bird feeder.

Sunday Reflections

I just noticed that I somehow overlooked the capital B that obviously should have been lower case - further proof that I will always be an imperfect perfectionist. (Keeping it real 24/7/365.)

Sunday Reflections

I know, I know, I've been absent - even in replying to your kind comments. Sorry about that. Just busy with houseguests and starting a new job at a bank. I haven't worked for quite a while, but my brain needed a part-time out-of-the-house challenge. We've had a cold, rainy fall and even saw snow again this week. Sounds like a good time for a throwback photo from July.

13 Years!

13 years and we're still giggling our way through life together!
Thank you for all the happiness you've added to my days!
I love you with all my heart!

Although I'm not necessarily a spider lover, the Goldenrod Crab Spider is pretty cool. Isn't creation fascinating?!

Guilty!

Can you see it? The guilt written all over his face?

Yes, more bird feeders destroyed. I've officially lost count. (Sorry, Mr. Goldfinch.) Still not satisfied, the culprit came back and began eyeballing the hummingbird feeders.

Is he actually going after the hummingbird feeders while I'm standing here on the other side of the window looking at him and snapping photos?

Uh huh, but our hummingbird feeders were successfully saved! Note to self: You can sometimes discourage a bear from destroying hummingbird feeders by waving your hands in the air like a crazy person while you're standing safely inside your house. Second note to self: Sometimes.

Why on earth was he still looking up in that tree? He had already ripped down the bird feeders, toted off the squirrel baffle, and broken the tree branch that used to be there!

Taking down the bird feeders after dinner doesn't always prevent destruction. This one thought our dinnertime was his dinnertime, so the birds had to get by on their own again for a week or so.

In all fairness, he could be a she.

Sunday Reflections

Thank you for the great comments last week. I didn't have time to respond as we were busy with my brother visiting us from out of state. Had a wonderful time showing him the Keweenaw!

Sunday Reflections

Thanks to those who left heartfelt messages last week on the sudden loss of our dear friend, Ann. We were traveling 500 miles that day on our way to the funeral. It was a physically and emotionally exhausting trip, but we're so glad we made it. Such a wonderful and joyful woman deserved a beautiful tribute, and her family made it very special. She loved greatly - and was greatly loved. What a blessing it is to know that this is not the end for those who have trusted Christ. We will meet on that beautiful shore!

Sunday Reflections

A dear friend passed away this week. Ann was redeemed with the precious blood of Christ and was truly one of the most beautiful women I've ever known. Though her body was ravaged by rheumatoid arthritis for many years, her countenance radiated the beautiful soul within her. She'll be tremendously missed by her family and friends, but we look forward to walking with her on streets of gold in the sweet by and by.

Sunday Reflections

This one destroyed another bird feeder yesterday. It was still daylight and way too close to the bedroom windows I had open! We'll leave the feeders down again for another week and hope he moves on down the road. Little stinker.

Sunday Reflections - Father's Day!

Sunday Reflections & A Happy Birthday!

I'll admit to laughing at mother-in-law jokes,
but it sure is a blessing to have a fantastic mother-in-law!

Hope you have a Happy Birthday down in Florida, Mom!
