About This Blog

After 8 years of planning and dreaming, we were finally able to make the move to the Keweenaw Peninsula in the fall of 2011. The Keweenaw is the far northwestern section of Michigan's Upper Peninsula jutting about 60 miles into Lake Superior. It is our desire to live out the remainder of our lives in this lovely, peaceful area. Yes, we know you think we're crazy, but we love it here. Retirement in Florida just doesn't do it for us!

What to Expect:  I will talk about our new home construction and may sometimes use this blog as a journal, but don't expect to find out when I mopped the kitchen floor. You're more likely to find out what weather events we're experiencing, the current snow totals, projects we're tackling, simple crafts, photos and descriptions of local places we visit, recent blessings, reflections, musings and the occasional ramblings of the middle-aged.

The purpose of this blog is to keep in touch with our friends and family - make new friends along the way - and to share our love of the beautiful Keweenaw Peninsula with anyone interested in this area.

This blog reflects our attitudes, thoughts, feelings, beliefs and experiences from our point of view only. It does not necessarily reflect the attitudes or experiences of anyone else living in the Keweenaw or anywhere else.

    1. Oh, the profile pic? Yeah, that's me and my man wayyy back in the day... but it's been so mild down here, we may don our suits soon... ridiculous weather we're having! How's MOM? Is she up to her eyeballs in snow too!?

    2. Lori, that's the point. If we were interested in faster and easier, we wouldn't be living here! We enjoy the slow and quiet pace of the Keweenaw. Mom is doing just fine and is living nearby. She's shorter than we are, so the snow must be above her eyeballs.

  3. I know Donna I don't think your crazy for moving up there. In fact sometimes I think you have to be a little off your rocker to stay down here. Don't foreget to send updates on the dog. For us pet lovers ya know. (For the life off me I can't remember its name) Love the pictures.
