Thanks to all who sent me get well cards and messages after my unexpected appendectomy last week. The staff at our local hospital took great care of me during my stay, and Mr. Cut Off has taken on extra duties at home to cover for me. His sweet disposition is always a blessing. 

I love how the Lord often seems to make my Sunday Reflections verses so appropriate for my life on the day they're posted even though I've usually scheduled them weeks in advance. As I edited this post to add a quick note, I noticed that was the case again today.

Old Man Winter

Well, we survived our most recent blizzard without a loss of power and no trees down on top of buildings or across our driveway! I also made it home from the hospital before blizzard conditions began, so that made me (and Mr. Cut Off) very happy! Yeah, hospital. There was an unexpected appendectomy inserted into my life last Friday, but I'm doing fine now - recovering at home, nice and cozy, looking out at this lovely view.

We've had 86" of snow just in the month of February (so far)! It's white and it's deep! As of this morning, our current season total is 264". That's right around our average snowfall for the season, and March and April can both bring us a lot of snow, so we'll see what happens. I know most people wouldn't mind if we had a partial meltdown or two before Spring arrives to try to reduce our piles a bit before the big thaw. 

I looked out one of our bedroom windows 2 weeks ago and saw this.

I dubbed him "Old Man Winter." Is it just me or can everyone see the face? There's a nose, eyelashes, a beard, a neck and even a belly button!
