Full Bath

We've had a very busy week, so I haven't had time to finish a longer post about a recent excursion to Copper Harbor.  However, I did want to post something, so I thought I would share a short post and some photos of work we've done on this house.  It's time for a few before and after photos of our main floor bathroom.

Here's the before photo.
This is how the bathroom looked when we purchased this house.  And, I mean it's exactly how the bathroom looked - including everything you see in the photo - even the wild towel and the plastic window curtain.

The wall tile was in great shape, so we decided to work with that.  The tub and tub surround were also in good shape (after extensive scrubbing).  We just needed to replace all the caulking and faucets.  The sink, vanity, medicine cabinet and flooring obviously had to go.

Here's an after photo from the same perspective.
I think you can tell we painted.  The pink color was still the original color of the bathroom from 1968.  Hey, we told you this house was greatly loved and gently used.  We also installed a new frosted sliding window, light fixtures and fan, mirror and a cabinet for storage above the toilet.
Can we talk about the toilet?  The other one was in good shape, but it was a water hog with a double flush.  We replaced it with a new Eljer Titan 4 tall toilet from Menards.  Wow, that baby can flush!  It also has a self-closing lid!  If it's possible to love a toilet, we love this one.  We love it so much that we got another one in the shorter version for the basement bathroom.
That's it for tonight.  All is well in the Keweenaw.
