Iris

One of the fun things about living in a different house this year is the excitement of discovering what's blooming in the yard.  We've been eating fresh asparagus, enjoying a variety of tulips and here's what's blooming next to the garage today!
Irises!  4 large blossoms with more almost ready to pop!

It's in the 70's and sunny.  All is well in the Keweenaw.

  1. Glad to see the Pines are still open, need somewhat of an edge to ease the gas prices for the trip up. Who knows, my even run into Elisabeth Warren there?

I think the picture of the windmills just doesn’t seem to do Michigan landscape justice. Oh, did they say it will produce energy for 54000 homes, is that with or without the wind blowing? Sorry got carried away there. Duane’s got one in his back yard.

Downsizing your new home? There goes my guest room; I knew it was too good to be true. I know, back out to the shed.

Sorry we missed you on that trip, see ya in a month or so.....Marty and Donna

  2. Hey Marty:
I'll have you know that I am also 1/32 Cherokee, but I do not own a gas station and I have NEVER checked a box next to the words "Native American" in the hopes that it would create opportunities to meet people like me. After all, no one like me could possibly exist anyway!

Yes, I prefer the pine trees, rocks and copper mining ruins dotting the landscape in this area over the wind turbines in Gratiot County. I'll pay full price for my electricity instead.

Don't worry about your guest room. One will be available for you and Donna anytime you need it. You'll just have to go downstairs to get to it instead of upstairs.

We went to "The Harbor" today and did the tour of Fort Wilkins. Had a fantastic time. I'll write a post about it soon.

We're really looking forward to your visit.
