Sunday Reflections

I did something I've never done before. I started my Christmas decorating on Thanksgiving morning with this tree in the dining area. I've AWLAYS waited until the day after Thanksgiving to begin decorating. Well, it was meant to be, as it started snowing as I worked!

Sunday Reflections

Our local fireworks show was canceled this year, so I brought back a post from 3 years ago. It's certainly not outdated.

Sunday Reflections

What would happen in America if believers consistently and specifically practiced these verses - for ALL that are in authority?

Sunday Reflections

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie,
we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge
to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast,
and which entereth into that within the veil;
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus,
made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 6:18-20

Sunday Reflections - Mother's Day!

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. (John 19:25)

As I read this verse again recently, I was overwhelmed by the love and strength of Mary, the mother of Jesus. What a heart-wrenching day that was for her! The baby boy she had fed, loved and nurtured was being tortured and murdered. Yet, she didn't leave Him at the cross to die without her. She wanted to be there despite how much emotional pain it was causing her to witness such a physically painful end for His earthly body. Oh, the wonderful love of a mother!

We still have snow in our yard, but we see change beginning in the trees!

Sunday Reflections

Mark 12:10-11 (as shown on a page I have framed from a 1632 Bible)
And have ye not read this Scripture? The stone which the builders rejected, is become the head of the corner. This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

Sunday Reflections

Due to an unplanned migraine, I'm recycling one of my Scripture photos today, but I think it's quite appropriate for this present day and for the Easter season. Stay well, friends. All is well in the Keweenaw.

Sunday Reflections

Has everyone been taking more photos of the inside of their house lately - or is it just me? Our homes have become our place of refuge - the place where we feel most sheltered and safe from danger - even more so than usual. It's wonderful to remember that as believers, we can always have strong confidence in God's love and care for us. He is our refuge. All is well in the Keweenaw.
