Fall Color in the Keweenaw 2

I'm back with more fall color today. We're moving outdoors, but sticking close to home. Here's the view of our barn as you come down the driveway.

And the house. No deck or foundation stone yet - 2017 goals!

Next Up: We'll take a fall color road trip around the Keweenaw!

All is well in the Keweenaw.

  1. Your pictures are beautiful! Thank you for sharing them. Do you ever see black bears when you are out? We have black bears in our mountains here in NC, and one tried to break into our garbage cans. I love the beauty of God's handiwork with Fall's gorgeous colors. My favorite time of year. God bless, Bev

    1. Black bears? Definitely. But we don't have to go out. It's probably hard to tell from the photos, but we're in the middle of the woods. Do you see the rock pile in photos 9 & 10 - next to the huge pine with the birdhouse on it? Yep, black bear there. That's on the edge of our yard very close to our house. See our double set of sliding doors on the back of our house? We had 5 hummingbird feeders right there, and Mr. or Mrs. Black Bear destroyed those in early September. He/she visited us 4 out of 5 nights that week - even "unpotted" one of my mums - just for fun apparently! We've also been visited by other animals including foxes, wolves and a fisher. Deer are regular visitors, of course. Our most fun sighting was of a moose that ran in front of us on the road. I have a short post about it with photos back in September. Title is "Bullwinkle!" Thanks for the kind remarks! Yes, autumn certainly shows us the handiwork of God! Love it.
