Natural gas isn't available this far up into the peninsula, so we have a propane tank. That supplies the fuel for our furnace, hot water heater, dryer and oven (and gas fireplace at some point). We had a delivery last week that will enable us to cut down on our use of propane substantially.
Our heat and hot water will be coming from the Earth!
It's the Earth Outdoor Wood Furnace - Mountain Man Series. Since we have an unlimited supply of wood on our property, it makes sense for us.
It's sitting in a temporary location on our property at the moment. We still need to pour a slab of cement for it in the permanent location.
Kind of adorable, isn't it?
