Spray Foam Prep

The spray foam insulation was completed in mid-August, and I'll show you the preparation in today's post. Steve finished installing all the proper vents before the spray foam crew arrived. Here's a shot of the ceiling in the Great Room. The proper vents are simply sheets of stapled cardboard - used to create a baffle or channel between the spray foam insulation and the roof sheeting - to provide our home with proper ventilation.

The crew began by installing protective plastic sheeting on the floors,

windows

and doors. They also covered the showers and tub.

A friend from church has been helping Steve with the electrical. They made sure to get all the rough electrical finished on the exterior walls before the spray foam crew went to work.

Steve also took the time to go around the house and photograph all the walls. If he ever needs to know where a wire is located after the walls are finished, he'll have a photographic record. Pretty smart thinking, huh?
